I am tying to find out some information about an NGO (World Concern Asia), and need to find out not so much what they do or what their stated goals are, but rather more of the feel in the development community about them--e.g. their "reputation" if you will.

I realize that different people with different development philosophies will have different takes on any one organization (E.g. Ms. World Bank Consultant will probably have a different take than Mr. Grassroots People's Organization). Nevertheless, I am still interested in input.

Which brings up another issue. In North America, many cities have a "Better Business Buruea" which allows you to find out about any given company in the area (any complaints, violations, etc.). Is there anything like this for NGOs? It seems that both for people who are considering a position with any particular NGO (like myself) or any organization interested in working with another NGO, the "grapevine" of personal contacts and gossip among development workers doesn't really cut it.

Thanks all!
