It is a public, electronic forum (mailing list) on the subject: "Technology Transfer in International Development." Subscription is free. Subscribers automatically receive all postings and a monthly, on- line newsletter, called DevelopNet News.

*** WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF DEVEL-L?

It is an online discussion forum operated by Volunteers in Technical Assistance (VITA). VITA thus encourages the exchange of ideas and information on a wide range of issues and topics included under Technology Transfer in International Development; for example, specific technologies, communications in development, sustainable agriculture, women in development, the environment, small enterprise development, meetings, and book reviews.

General discussions of development are usually off topic.

*** HOW DO I POST A MESSAGE TO ALL SUBSCRIBERS?

Subscribers may e-mail their messages to mailto:DEVEL-L@AMERICAN.EDU; this is called the "posting address." The List Owner does not edit or screen messages.

*** WHAT SHOULD I NOT POST?

Please do not send commercial advertising, spams, flames, very long messages, political advocacy, off-topic messages, and administrative messages to the posting address.

*** HOW DO I UNSUBSCRIBE FROM DEVEL-L?

To unsubscribe from the List, you must address e-mail to:

mailto:LISTSERV@AMERICAN.EDU

*** WHAT IF MY SUBSCRIPTION OR UNSUBSCRIPTION REQUEST DOESN'T WORK?

If these procedures repeatedly fail, please send e-mail to me at this address: mailto:vickit@vita.org . Explain exactly what you tried and the results you obtained, with message headers if possible. Please do not send such requests to the posting address.

*** WHERE IS DEVEL-L ARCHIVED?

VITA does not maintain a digest of postings. Some other organizations do maintain DEVEL-L archives; instructions for accessing them and newsletter back issues appear each month in the newsletter.

*** WHAT IS VITA?
