The statist model seems to be history. The "orthodox" or laissez faire model is certainly the one to challenge as George Soros has pointed out in his article "The Capitalist Threat". I think (hope) most people are aware of the fact that the individual pursuit of self interest does NOT bring about common well being. Particularly, if the individuals are powerful ones and the majority powerless.
Certainly the only hope for a better future rests with Participative Democratic structures which are the HARDEST to create, specially after many years of brainwashing towards either dependency or individualism.
Best regards, P.S. It is important to NOTE that laissez faire has *NOTHING* to do with Participative Democratic principles as many people erroneously think.
