The Least of These Program Highlights HCJB-The Voice of the Andes June 9, 1997
On this week's edition of The Least of These, we'll hear about low-income residents in Kentucky who are getting some help at building a nest-egg. Allen Graham reports. Then we'll hear from England on an outreach program to help others around the world. Mauricio Solis of MAP will be along to talk about health development work, and Rev. Jeff Siems of Bethel-St. Paul United Church of Christ in Louisville Kentucky will be looking at the biblical verse which gives this program its name. The Least of These is a weekly radio program produced by HCJB, The Voice of the Andes in Quito, Ecuador, South America. The title of the program comes from the biblical reference in Matthew 25:40 where Jesus Christ said, "I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to me. Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me."
