Dear Jens,I went to look at your web pages and was very impressed by the simplicity of the format you are using there. I'm not clear though what your aims are from your post below. Are you actually looking for information for this site or ideas on the actual technicalities of these kind of sites? These latter I am not any good at.
I am interested in the RIN. Perhaps if I state my interests you can see if there is anything that we can cooperate on.
My brother has worked in Africa for many years, and I am aware
a) it can be very costly for him to get R&D information for his technology projects at western prices.
b) All over the world people are developing alternative technologies - but generally these people are too busy to share their learning as their priorities are clearly in the field.
So, I was looking, with others team members, at how info could be made available, to cut costs and save some time from reinventing wheels.
In the contexts of expensive download times, I find most sites very frustrating. Even on UK telephone costs, I can't afford the time it takes to get through the "who we are", self congratulations or advertising that many sites abound with, to get to simple info. Often I have to give up without finding anything useful.
Clearly your site gets round this problem. Congratulations.
So where are you planning to go next with your site, and in general to list members, how much voluntary information can be collected for workers in the field with very express links and cut down to the bare bones of needed information, for people in the field to use for the benefit of people rather than for the profits or prestige of organisations.
eg technical details current uses and evaluation of results.
