I'm the former editor-in-chief of CERES magazine, the flagship
publication of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization
(FAO). My masters degree thesis in agricultural journalism has just been
published in book form and is available on the Internet. It has several
chapters dealing with the history of agriculture and of farm journalism
in North America, the states of the former Soviet Union, and sub-Saharan
Africa, as well as a long section--aimed at urban journalists for whom
farming and international development are unfamiliar
territory--describing the key social, economic and environmental issues
in farming today.
