I am a graduate student in Communication at the University of Maine and
am
conducting a study to collect descriptions of interpersonal difficulties
caused by differences in cultural expectations in order to identify
strategies
to resolve those difficulties. Risk to participants is minimal as the
questionnaire only asks participants to recount an interpersonal
difficulty
caused by cultural differences and how it was resolved. Since
intercultural
communication is becoming more prominent and the ability to
communicate across cultures is more in demand, this study can be an
important step toward developing intercultural communication
competence. I appreciate your willingness to participate in this study.
