First of all I want to apoligize for cross-posting and for offending those of
you who don't think some of these forums are the appropriate place for asking
career advice.

During 93-95 I was a peace corps volunteer in West Africa working with Credit Unions and small business development. After finishing PC, I went to grad school at the Monterey Institute of International Studies (MIIS). During my time at MIIS I was primarily focused on credit as a tool for enterprise development.

After graduating I moved to DC, and spent a solid year job searching. For going on a year I have been backstopping a USAID funded International health project ( I know nil about health). During this year + since finishing grad school I have learned a lot about what I want to be doing and have decided I am most interested in enterprise development training at the community level, not the institutional level.

So now finally to my question. Are there any organizations out there (in the DC metro area) that offer weekend workshops (vs. semester long) on facilitation skills, curriculum development, etc. that would help me improve my ability to offer business training at the community level (be it literate,semi-literate or illiterate)? I have a nice educational stipend, but no place to spend it.

Thank you so much. For those of you who still remember what those first few years out of grad school were like, I appreciate any comments/advice you may be able to offer.
