THE LEAST OF THESE Program Highlights HCJB--The Voice of the Andes June 27 and 29, 1998HCJB's weekly program, The Least of These, has focused on poverty issues and how agencies around the world address them. We have done this from a Christian point of view. On this week's program, the last in this series, we will repeat an interview with Mr. Ferdinand Mahfood, the founder and president of Florida-based Food for the Poor. Mr. Mahfood describes his Christian pilgrimage and how that motivated him to establish an organization which helps the poor in a number of countries. You won't want to miss this special, moving presentation. This will be the last program in the series "The Least of These." Host Ken MacHarg will be leaving Ecuador within a week to return to the United States and the program will come to a close. We appreciate all of those who have contributed to and expressed interest in this program, the only one we know of on a Christian radio station which regularly addressed the Christian responsibility for the poor. The Least of These is a weekly radio program produced by HCJB, The Voice of the Andes in Quito, Ecuador, South America. The title of the program comes from the biblical reference in Matthew 25:40 where Jesus Christ said, "I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to me. Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me."
