The International Institute for Sustainable Development is looking for a
Young Professional Intern to be placed for 6 months in the following
position:
Fundacion Ambiente y Recursos Naturales (FARN)
Buenos Aires, Argentina
FARN was founded in 1985 as a small non-profit, non-governmental
organization. Its main objectives are the promotion of policy, law,
economy and institutional organization for Sustainable Development. Its
work is mainly addressed to public and private decision-makers. Since
FARN is still building its capacity to use the Internet to communicate
with decision-makers, it would provide an excellent work experience for
an individual with a strong technical and training background. Tasks
may include assisting with hardware and software purchase/installation,
training staff in their use and maintenance, and performing server log
analyses. Since much of FARN's knowledge base exists on databases and
in non-print sources, the intern may also be asked to assist with
RealAudio and/or database files.
Qualifications:
* Fluency in Spanish
* Strong technical knowledge for evaluating and purchasing equipment
* Computer training experience
* Interest in sustainable development and/or environmental law
* An interest/ability to do server log analyses OR radio skills for
creating RealAudio files OR writing skills to create online SD training
in Spanish OR web-database interface coding expertise
Start Date: August/September
