The attached announcement was received from Lucinia Bal, of the
Open Society Institute in Budapest. The announcement is a call
for education development consultants/experts to send listings
for inclusion in a consultant database being created for the
Soros Foundations Network and other education development organi-
zations in the CEE/NIS regions. Perhaps some list members will be
interested in submitting information for the Directory. I am
posting this note to several lists, so let me apologize in ad-
vance to list members who receive multiple copies of the note.

IEP/OSI Creating Education Development Consultant Database
*****************************************************************
We are the Institute for Educational Policy (IEP), recently
established within the Open Society Institute (OSI) in Budapest.
The aim of our organisation is to assist/support the education
development programmes within the network of Soros Foundations in
Central/Eastern Europe (CEE) and the Newly Independent States
(NIS) of the former Soviet Union.

We will soon launch an IEP web-site containing informational resources and a discussion forum for education development and reform experts. The website will include a database with names of experts/consultants in the field of education development.

The primary purpose of the database is to provide education development consultant support to Soros Foundations Network offices (for background, please visit http://www.soros.org/) initiating large-scale education reform projects in CEE/NIS countries. The database may also be helpful to development agen- cies and government organizations involved in education develop- ment, and to researchers seeking joint project collaboration. The database will be available to any organisation or institution involved in education development projects.

To be included in the Directory, please complete the attached form, and send the information to the e-mail address provided at the end of the announcement.
