An Internet conference is being organized by the United Nations International Decade for Natural Disaster Reduction (IDNDR) as a prelude to the closing event of the Decade (Programme Forum 1999, 5-9 July 1999, Geneva, Switzerland). The Internet conference will run over a period of two weeks with the following four themes: Education and socio economic concerns; Development and environmental concerns; Scientific and technological concerns; and Action Towards the 21st century.

The Programme Week 1 Monday, June 14 Education ands socio economic concerns. Moderator: Badaoui Rouhban and Gustavo Lopez Ospina (UNESCO, France)

Week 1 Wedneday, June 16 Development and environmental concerns. Moderator: Eugene Staffa (Tel-Econ Consulting, Canada)

Week 2 Monday, June 21 Scientific and technological concerns Moderator: Mustafa Erdik (Bogazici University, Turkey)

Week 2 Wednesday, June 23 Action Towards the 21st century Moderator: Robert Hamilton (National Academy of Sciences, U.S.A)
