You can't reasonably apply the same criteria used for Sweden to Kenya and Pakistan.

>what are the realistic options for biological treatment and recycling etc

THAT is exactly what you want. What you CAN'T do in Sweden because of the cold is what you SHOULD do in Kenya and Pakis an. You definately want to use biological rather than or chemical processes, with as little mecanical intervention as po sible, to cut down the power consumption. You probably should investigate one of the combined anaerobic / aerobic syste s that feed each others processes. Most of these systems are patented. Try to get in touch with the Centro de Innovaci n Tecnologico (CIT) of the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM). The (CIT) licences the waste water treatment technology developed at the UNAM to private companies, and could either refer you to one of their licensees or possibly icense to you directly. Using technology developed in Mexico will cost 60% of what comparable European technology will un you.

www.unam.mx will take you to their website but I don't see the CIT mentioned there. I have emailed the UNAM administrat on for the CIT's e-mail address and will send it on.

If it's solid waste you'll be dealing with, the biogas systems developed and used in India are worth looking into.
