Potchefstroom University Department of CommunicationThe department of Communication is the oldest in the country, established in 1959. It offers degree programmes from the BA level to masters and doctorates. The department offers two majors, mass communication (Afrikaans: Bedryfskommunikasie) and social communication (Afrikaans: Kommunikasiekunde), as well as history of art, and typing and word processing.

Accreditation: Ecquid Novi is accredited by the South African Department of Education as an academic journal for university and technikon research purposes.
Referees: All research and academic overview articles are externally refereed. Editorial Policy: Ecquid Novi is a research journal for journalism in Southern Africa. It is affiliated as such to the Southern African Communication Association (Sacomm) and serves as publication for the Journalism Division of Sacomm. Its purpose is to foster a better understanding of journalism as an academic discipline and a profession. It is published twice a year by the Institute for Communication Research at Potchefstroom University, and comprises a research and an academic overview section on aspects of print and electronic journalism, and mass communication in general. There is also a discussion forum for contributions from the field of journalism, as well as a section on book reviews. Copyright verts with the Publishers.
Editorial requirements: Submit three copies, typed according to the Harvard method, e.g. in the text: (Merrill, 1984:79-82) or Merrill (1984), and in the list of references (please contact the editor for further requirements):
