Hi! I'm doing a reasearch project about agriculture and water issues in the Northeast Sertao region of Brazil for a course in international development. I already wrote once and got helful advice. But I'm back with more specific questions, after a long and tedious search. I'm wondering if anyone 1) knows which Transnational corportations, if any have interest and have invested in the region 2) If the World Bank has loaned money to Brazil to devlop the region recently , say after 1990, 3) If any non-profit organizations, both international and local to the region have implemented any "development" projects, 4) Finally just any information on projects, especially recent ones, in the region or where I might search to find interesting materials. I'm especially interested in looking into the International, national and local interractions concerning "development" of the region and how these reactions have influenced projects which may or may not have been useful to the rural population, small land owners , indigeneous , and landless. Thanks so much for your help !!! I'm planning on going to Northeast Brazil next January to see for myself.Lena.
