The UN has a study, published 2/13/96, announced in Conference rm.
6, on "Urban Agriculture: Food, Jobs, and Sustainable Cities", Vol.
1, auth. Jac Smit [sic] of the Urban Agriculture Network.

THe USDA had a "Urban Agri-Forest" Model in USDA/FS Grant #92-LA-5, [FY 92-95, $238,000] reportedly. Average annual gross revenue from garden, orchard, landscaping, and timber products est. at $120,000/acre in cold zones, and once set up it is self-supporting.

Any ideas on how I might get my hands on either of the above? I have clients interested in doing it. [mailto:Michael_O._Patterson@hud.gov]

Just FYI, Banana Kelly, the Bronx neighborhood cited last year as an example of proactive community building in Smithsonian magazine, had a symposium on Urban Agriforestry, what they're calling "Hope Bronx [NY] Project, on 2/13/96. Contact was Yaw Vilmar, 718 328 1064
