Surface Water Monitoring/Hydrometry Specialist
Qualifications
Expertise in the design and installation of surface water monitoring stations. Particular expertise in surface water monitoring stations and networks for arid and semi-arid climates. Experience with design and installation of cableway monitoring equipment for surface water monitoring stations. Experience with stream discharge recorders (e.g., Stevens A-71). Experience with telemetry systems for monitoring surface water discharge. Experience in developing countries desired, particularly in the middle east.
Scope of Work
The expert will provide assistance in the development of surface water monitoring plans for various watershed basins. The plans will be prepared by counterpart personnel following models pre- viously developed (1995). The expert will provide technical input to the plans. The expert will survey and inspect the proposed surface water monitoring locations in the basins and make recommendations regarding the type of monitoring station structure, design, equipment, and security. The expert will prepare a final report of the recommendations for the monitoring stations and the specifications packages for the equipment required for the various monitoring stations. {Station design and construction will be subcontracted to a local firm.}
Assistance in the review of the detailed engineering design for the monitoring stations of an other on-going effort (local subcontractor design to begin immediately) may be requested if the timing is appropriate.
