Social Protection Project in Ukraine
******************************************************************
Chemonics International, in cooperation with PADCO and USAID, has
been assisting the Government of Ukraine in developing social
sector policy, refining the housing subsidy program and social
assistance programs. Chemonics is providing technical assistance
that encompasses policy development, development of auditing and
monitoring systems, review of energy and fuel programs, program
cost reduction strategies, and training programs.
The Government of Ukraine is creating a Task Force for social
protection. When initiated, there will be a subsequent need for
concise background papers on issues related to different forms of
social protection. Topics may include: family-assistance pro-
grams, low-income housing, and communication. Chemonics is now
recruiting a panel of experts with knowledge of these topics as
they relate to the former Soviet Union and Central Europe.
Turnaround time for the requested reports will be very short.
Members of the panel will be asked to prepare papers within 3-4
days after receiving a faxed request from the Task Force. The
panel will be completed within the next two weeks, and members
will be placed on contract to be "on call" until approximately
October 1996.
Send resumes, as soon as possible to:
