Eberhard,

I recommend a good one, no prioce cutting. The price cutting usually removes the shock absorbers, better quality equipment, etc.

A laptop should at the minimum be able to withstand a slide off the front passenger seat on while a vehicle brakes or turns sharply.

We've had a couple of Toshibas that have worked for years. I've heard good things about Powerbooks as well. We had one el cheapo that didn't make it out of the office.
