CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS

Using Communication to Make Environmentally Sustainable Development Happen

An international workshop entitled "Using Communication to Make Environmentally Sustainable Development Happen" will take place November 1-2, 1996, in Burlingame, California (near San Francisco). Leaders in environmental education and communication from around the world will come together to share lessons learned; a compilation of these lessons and experiences will then go to the donor community to help maximize the impact of environmental funding.

The workshop organizers hope to include as many presentations as possible drawn from developing country experience and by developing country professionals. Sponsors include the U.S. Agency for International Development through its Environmental Education and Communication (GreenCOM) Project; World Wildlife Fund-U.S.; IUCN-The World Conservation Union; and World Wide Fund for Nature-International.

The workshop will be held in conjunction with the annual conference of the North American Association for Environmental Education. Presentation submissions are due July 1, 1996 (or later under specific circumstances). For information about presenting and/or attending this workshop, contact GreenCOM, 1255 23rd Street NW, Washington, DC 20037; fax (202) 884-8997; e-mail <mailto:greencom@aed.org>.
