Hi Jon, I think we agree on most of this stuff, just a point about "inevitable collapse".
If I actually thought the collapse was inevitable, I wouldn't bother to post anything. The doomsday scenarios from Ehrlich, Club of Rome, and so on, are presented as "business as usual" scenarios. The reason these books are written, is so people will see the danger, change their course and avert doomsday. It is like a ship's radar screen spotting a rocky shore in the fog. One aught to avoid it.
If I gave people the impression that there was no hope, I am sorry.
If humanity can see where its self-interest rests, and then organize to work for peace, justice, and honest political leadership, then maybe -- just maybe -- we can make it.
