INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND THE PUBLIC SECTORFinal Call for Abstracts - April 1st deadline
A reminder for all those wishing to have papers considered for the stream on 'Information Systems and the Public Sector' within the forthcoming international conference on Public Sector Management For The Next Century. The conference is to be organised by the Institute for Development Policy and Management at the University of Manchester, UK, 29 June-2 July 1997.
The deadline for abstracts is April 1st, and so far 15 abstracts have been submitted for consideration (depending on how the stream is organised, it will have a capacity of 10-20 presentations). A broad range of work will be presented on the theme of comparative understanding of the role of information, information technology, and information systems in public sector organisations. There is a particular interest in implications for, or experiences from, developing countries and transitional economies.
Negotiations are currently underway with a publisher to publish the IS stream papers in either book or journal special issue format.
