My former counterpart, who works in the Ministry of Education in The Gambia, has a funding opportunity to go abroad for a one year course in information management/ systems. She currently has a form 6 certificate, and has been working with a database for the past three years as part of her job. I think ideally she would want to be able to pick up the theoretical background and technical skills to develop or improve a computer based information management system for an NGO or gov't agency.If anyone can recommend a 6 month or 1 year program in information systems, perhaps one that caters to visiting international students and/or focuses on applications in development, please let me know.
