Call for Entries for the One World '98 International Media Conference and Awards (PLEASE NOTE DEADLINE IS 27TH MARCH). We hope very much you will consider entering at least one of the awards categories.
The OneWorld Media Conference and Awards is an annual media event that recognises excellence in the communication of human rights and sustainable development. Clare Short (Secretary of State for International Development), Sir Christopher Bland (Chairman of the BBC), and Jonathan Dimbleby (broadcaster/author) will be guest speakers at the conference and Jon Snow (Channel 4 News) will host the awards ceremony.
Our major sponsors are the Department for International Development (DFID), the European Community Humanitarian Office (ECHO), ActionAid, the BBC, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), Save the Children, UNICEF UK, and the World Bank.
Although some awards are only suited to the media, there are several suited to NGOs that have no special media departments too.
Please let your colleagues and partners know, in case they want to enter a piece of work they have been involved in. The subject area must focus on sustainable development and human rights.
