CIPER is designed for people responsible for training health staff in interpersonal communication (IPC). At the end of IPER, each participant will be able to organize interpersonal communication (IPC) training sessions for health workers. IPER is proposing a new methodological approach, based on active and participatory methods. CIPER enables each particip nt to experience IPC training situations from the point of view of the person being trainer, but also from the trainer's point of view.
The Course will be supervised by three main trainers: Ms. Régina Traoré, director of the Center for teaching and communi ation research (CERCOM) at the University of Cocody/ Abidjan, Dr. Bérengère de Negri, project director at the Academy fo Educational Development (AED) in Washington, DC, and Mr. Michel Andrien, CERES coordinator and lecturer at the Universi y of Liège. CIPER will also call upon the CERES staff and outside trainers to speak about their fields of expertise.
CIPER '99 will take place in Liège from April 18*May 8, 1999. Participants are expected to arrive no later than Sunday, April 18, at 4:00pm. Training sessions will take place Monday*Friday from 9:00am-5:00pm. Evenings and weekends offer o portunities for visits, exchanges of experiences and video screenings that complement the classroom training.
If you are interested in participating in this course, you must find a sponsor as soon as possible to cover your costs. The tuition is 70,000BEF and this fee covers course attendance, individualized training, and training materials. It is lso recommended that sponsors give approximately 3,000 BEF/ day for room & board, and money needs to be also given for i ternational and in-country travel expenses.
