The rise of numerous emerging markets throughout the world offers great promise, yet they challenge many of our traditional ideas and theories about markets including their competitiveness, financial contributions, supply-demand functions, modes of development, regulatory necessities, and other aspects. This conference will benefit participants by bringing together scholars, managers, and policy makers at both public and private levels to explore the unique nature and needs of these increasingly important marketplaces in the world economy. Invited are papers and ideas for workshops and panel discussions which examine a wide array of issues encountered in emerging markets, such as:

Important Dates:
July 15, 1995-Paper Abstracts or Proposals for panel discussions(3 copies) must be submitted. Deadline may be extended two-weeks upon approval of the steering committee for exemplary research.
August 15, 1995-Authors notified of acceptance of abstracts and panel proposals.
November 2, 1995-Full papers must be brought to the conference in camera-ready form.
November 3,4, and 5, 1995-Conference at the Sheraton University Hotel on the campus of Syracuse University, Syracuse, New York, 13224 USA.
Review of Abstracts/Full Papers:
All abstracts and papers will be reviewed by a panel of scholars and/or experts knowledgeable about issues facing emerging markets. All abstracts, proposals for panel discussions, and full papers must be submitted in English.
Proceedings Publication:
Publication of the proceedings of the Conference is planned, with presenters being offered the opportunity to provide an abstract or a completed paper detailing their work.
