This panel discussion, on the impact of international development, in Canadian universities at the undergraduate level, will focus on the process of bringing world issues onto university campuses. The panel will include members of the head administration of the World University Services of Canada, faculty of Brock University, and both Canadian and former refugee students of Brock University. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

The Topics Our Panel Members Will be Focusing on are:

Innocent Kabenga - the student-refugee experience, from arrival to presidency of Brock's WUSC committee - focusing mainly on the value of sharing experiences

John Kaethler - cooperation among student organizations and Brock's faculties, specifically through the DevEd network which he was instrumental in establishing.

Shantelle Marcoux - The Canadian student experience, from the limited world of home to the understanding gained from participation in the Vietnam seminar. - The effects of WUSC's efforts on the students it tries to educate.

Heather Phaneuf - The interaction of WUSC with the academic world. The connections that can be made between organizations at various levels. A focus on WUSC's cooperative dealings with other organizations, like CASID, and especially at the student level.

The intent of this panel discussion is to generate as much discussion, leading to mutual understanding, between the various organizations and individuals which/who should come into contact with International Development issues, and reality.
