My apologies if this information has already been posted - I just joined this listserv. If there are charitable organizations in need of donations of computers and computer equipment, it would be useful for them to post specific information concerning the purposes of their organizations, what there needs are and what the equipment will be used for. The company I work for might respond favorably to making donations of retired computer equipment. '386-based machines are nearing retirement.
It would be advantageous if a computer maven ("expert," for the non-Yiddish) available, because often a complete, working system is not available. For example, color monitors may remain useful after the CPU is retired. However monochrome monitors are widely available now, and will do just fine for many purposes. I don't claim computer expertise, so I can't assist on these matters.
I am interested postings requesting donations of computers, but will not serve as a clearinghouse for them.
