The Least of These
Program Highlights
HCJB, The Voice of the Andes
May 26, 1997

While helping the poor and needy may be a noble cause, there is sometimes more resistance from a community than assistance. Allen Graham will report on one such problem facing the agency Loaves and Fishes in Sacramento, California. Then, we'll hear a report from Dawn Johnston-Pitt of United Nations Radio on a novel idea to tax fuel oil to help pay for development.. Next, we'll talk with Tim Allen, South American Director for Plan International about how third-world development work has changed over his almost 20 year career with that agency. Finally, Paul Bell will be along to give us an inside look at Thailand. The Least of These is a weekly radio program produced by HCJB, The Voice of the Andes in Quito, Ecuador, South America. The title of the program comes from the biblical reference in Matthew 25:40 where Jesus Christ said, "I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to me. Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me."

The Least of These is broadcast on HCJB, The Voice of the Andes on the following Schedule:
