EDF International Program Summer Internship
The International Program of the Environmental Defense is seeking a summer intern to work with program staff and conduct research. For over ten years the program has been at the forefront of international NGOs seeking reform of international financial institutions such as the World Bank and the IMF so as make those institutions more accountable and environmentally responsible. A primary goal of the program is to preserve global ecosystems, especially the moist tropical forests of Indonesia, the Amazon basin, and West and Central Africa. The Program?s research and advocacy have contributed to halting public financial support of destructive and costly projects such as road-building and logging in the Amazon, landclearing and development in Indonesian Borneo, the Arun Dam in Nepal and the Sardar Sarovar dam in India, and mining in Russia?s Kamchatka peninsula.
The candidate selected should have excellent writing skills, be able to conduct research independently, and meet deadlines. Graduate students in such areas as international development policy, international environmental law, and related fields are encouraged to apply. French language ability is a desirable, but not required, qualification for the position. Funds have been budgeted to provide a stipend to the selected candidate. Interested persons should send a resume and writing sample to:

It doesn't bother me and I suggest that if it bothers you - that's why God (or Bill Gates) gave us a delete key. (David NL Day)
