As it looks, I didn't express myself very well in my original post to Yvonne. I was just talking about a lime/soil mix l
ke the one used for SCEB, but thought about pouring it directly on the substrate of the road, and then tamping it. Now I
can see a point for using SCEB, when the underground is a little soft. In northern Germany, where I am from, they used b
icks laid on the side, rather than flat, when they had to build a road in a former swamp area. Years later, when the sur
ace of the road wouldn't deform any more, they finally applied asphalt or concrete. Maybe you could do the same, buildin
the road with SCEB first, and later pouring a new lime/soil mix over it. It should be a relatively dry mix, which could
be roller compacted. It should also adhere pretty well to the SCEB, as it is the same material with the same expansion/c
ntraction, etc.; just moisten the SCEB before you apply the surface.
