national ministries of education, international development organizations
and schools. The Society's members include some 1,000 academics,
practitioners, and students from around the world who focus on education
as analyzed through a variety of disciplines: sociology, cultural
studies, post-colonial theory, anthropology, history, area studies,
politics, international affairs, globalization, country studies, feminist
theory, regional studies, language, multiculturalism, information
