Hi Uwe,I do not think the virus -which I got too and did not open - could have done any damage if you did not open it : it acts after Word has decoded a macro, otherwise it is ineffective. I guess your problem was just a coincidence, unless you got nervous about reading about the virus, and made an inappropriate delete or something : it could easily happen.
