This might be of interest to colleagues working on the environmental education/information sector. Walter Leal FilhoMC-ECOM - The Millennium Conference on Environmental Education and Communication
Registrations for MC-ECOM, organised by the European Environmental Education Newsletter (http://eeen.realworld.de) in liaison with UNEP, UNESCO, GreenCOM and the North American Association for Environmental Education, are now open. This internet-based conference makes void the barrier of time and geography, since it is taking place in the world wide web. An intensive, 2 days long dialogue is planned for the 9th and 10th December 1999. Participation is free of charge for people and institutions from developing countries, as well as for those working at NGOs (from both industrialised and developing nations). A conference book containing some of the key papers presented at the meeting (Environmental Education and Communication in the New Millenium: the Way Ahead), will be published in the earlier part of the year 2000 to provide a long-term record of the scheme. This is an event which intends to document and disseminate case studies and practical experiences.
