The attached announcement arrived on the net recently, and may be
of  interest to some members of the list. Although the region  is
not  one  I normally monitor, some list members may  have  skills
and/or interests appropriate for these regional assignments. I am
quite  familiar  with the activities of AED, and have  found  the
Academy to be a very professional organization. I would encourage

           Educational Technical Assistance Positions
      Indonesia, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Cambodia

The  Academy for Educational Development (AED)  seeks  candidates
for technical assistance positions in basic and secondary  educa-
tion in Indonesia, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Cambo-
dia.  The  positions  will be based  in  the  respective  capital
cities, beginning in the spring/early summer of 1997.

Qualifications required included a doctorate in a relevant educa- tional field and international development experience, preferably in South-East Asia. The positions are both long-term and short- term and cover the range of specialities in education: pre- service and in-service training, student centered learning, education policy and planning, management information systems, education technology, monitoring and evaluation, academic super- vision and accreditation, testing and assessment, school adminis- tration and management, model school development, and textbook design and publishing.
