Hello,
I have discovered two news search sources which allow you to search
for news stories from a wide variety of newspapers. The search goes
back months if not years on some of them.

www.newsbot.com I entered "Ecuador" in this one and it came up with 25 stories going back over several months. There may be a way to access more through this, but I didn't find it.

www.newsworks.com This is a fun site even if you aren't searching for something. It compiles news stories and features from over 100 U.S. newspapers allowing you to read several stories on each topic. It is updated daily. Their search function is excellent. I entered "Ecuador" and it found several HUNDRED stories going back quite some time. It is an excellent tool if you are trying to research a particular story.

For those of you who don't know it, I have put together two lists of news sources--one which tells you how to access news wires from around the world (like AP, Reuters, UPI, EFE, etc.) for free, the other which guides you to alternative news sources. If you want to receive either of them, just let me know. The general news wire list has just today (November 40 been revised and updated. Be aware, however, that none of the news sources allow you to use the stories you find on the web on the air or in print without their permission. --Ken MacHarg--HCJB
