The Least of These
Program Highlights
November 10, 1997

On this week's program we will be exploring the issue of health care in low income communities in the United States. We will talk with Estelle Nichols Avner of the Bradley Free Clinic in Roanoke, Virginia about how the free clinic movement is growing and serving the poor in urban and rural communities. Next, we will hear from Jean Murphy of the Chamblee-Doraville Ministry Center near Atlanta which trains and sends out Health Promoters among the poor. Finally, we will talk with Dr. Dean Miller, Professor of Health Education at the University of Toledo about health education and service in low income areas. The Least of These is a weekly radio program produced by HCJB, The Voice of the Andes in Quito, Ecuador, South America. The title of the program comes from the biblical reference in Matthew 25:40 where Jesus Christ said, "I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to me. Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me."

The Least of These is broadcast on HCJB, The Voice of the Andes on the following Schedule:
