THE LEAST OF THESE
Program Highlights
HCJB--The Voice of the Andes
December 1, 1997

It may seem early for a Christmas Special, but this week we will be focusing on what some relief and development agencies are planning to do at this time of the year. On this special, we will hear: *from Carol Ivy of World's Children in Winter Haven, Florida as she talks about how her agency remembers children in 70 orphanages around the world. *about how Victor Mariduena Varela and Children International will provide gifts for children in low-income neighborhoods of Ecuador. *a conversation with Jim Harrelson of Samaritan's Purse about their Operation Christmas Child project which benefits children around the world at Christmas time. *from Bruce Harris of Casa Alianza in Central America which plans to reach out to street children at the holiday. *about a unique alternative gift idea which World Concern is offering through its Global Gift Guide. Christy Gardner will tell us about the project. The Least of These is a weekly radio program produced by HCJB, The Voice of the Andes in Quito, Ecuador, South America. The title of the program comes from the biblical reference in Matthew 25:40 where Jesus Christ said, "I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to me. Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me."

The Least of These is broadcast on HCJB, The Voice of the Andes on the following Schedule:

To The South Pacific: 10:00 UTC on 9640 kHz To Europe: 20:00 UTC on 12015 kHz (may also be heard in Africa and Middle East) To The Americas: 2 and 5:00 (UTC Tuesday), (9 p.m. Monday and 12 a.m. Tuesday Eastern Standard Time) 9745 kHz
