Dear folks,l have just recently got back from Kalimantan, Indonesia (in fact just 2 hours ago) and am sadden by the poverty there. In fact on my way back, l have decided that l wanted to highlight this by producing a paper and a website on this. The title is " Rural Chinese Women in Kalimantan, Indonesia". This paper will be a fact finding paper, looking at their economic/social positions, plights, hopes and their future. A website with graphics etc will be produced at the same time. l expect this project to take at least 3 months and l am looking for only USD 3500 to cover mostly travelling and "relationship" cost. Any left over money will be donated to the local community there. l am working pro-bono here and using my own personal holiday over christmas and new year to be in Indonesia. If you know of any agencies/sponsors out there, let me know as soon as possible. l shall not abandon this project simply because there is no funding but it is good to have some. The sponsors will receive the usual recognitions on the website. The paper will only be available on the website. Thanks and regards.
