The Networks & Development Foundation (FUNREDES, http://funredes.org/english), an NGO dedicated to the dissemination of New Information and Communication Technologies (NICT) is offering several jobs in Santo Domingo. This is to solve new requirements in human resources as a consequence of the expansion of FUNREDES activities and to start an institutional strengthening. Selected persons will participate in Funredes’s international projects and complete a team of some ten people (locally employed or consultants working via the Internet).POSITIONS TO FULFILL · System Administration (Unix based Internet server) · Personal supervision · Information and documentation (for an activity linked to a specific e-conf methodology) · Translators English-French-Spanish (for an activity linked to a specific e-conf methodology) · Electronic conference facilitation · Web authoring · Infographism · Internet applications programming (Java, data basing) · External relations and communication
Interested persons must: - Be capable to communicate in two of the three languages: Spanish, English, French. - Have interests in development issues and be mature enough for grassroots activities. - Be capable of a good communication, both oral and written, especially by e-mail. - Have aptitudes for team activities, especially, collaborative work via the Internet.
Most of those positions are 2 year contracts and do not require a full-time person. Preference will then be given to people capable to fill simultaneously two (or more) of the described jobs.
Some positions will be filled locally, in Dominican Republic, others at international level, the transfer of know-how being a central part of the plan. International jobs correspond to a level of "young professionals"; a preference will be given to those candidates for whom a cooperation framework allows a third party to partially or totally cover the expenses.
