One development perspective that has been the 'poor step-child' of
development efforts has been South-South cooperation. In a very short
while the UNDP's Special Unit for Technical Cooperation among Developing
Countries (TRDC) will be announcing a set of online initiatives, under
the title of the WIDE Initiative, designed to strengthen South-South
cooperation.

This is not a formal announcement of the initiative since a bit more background work has to be completed. I felt that advanced warning should be noted here given the current discussion. You can find further information at http://www.undp.org/tcdc , at http://www.wide.org.br, and at http://www.bellanet.org/wide .

Persons with further interests or questions can contact me directly, AFTER DECEMBER 1st. I will be traveling with only limited online access until then.
