Fellow DEVEL-L participants and Listowner,It seems that the Masters of SPAM have in their hands a directory of emailing lists that have large subscriber bases. Although it's often easy to spot these unwanted messages (Recipes for sale! being a prime example) sometimes their authors manage to slip one past as "Recent reserch" or something of the sort...
The point: is it time to change DEVEL-L's security level to preclude the possibility of future spams? We don't seem to get many (valid) posts from non-subscribers. Couldn't the list be set to refuse messages from non-members?
