Hello,I am interested in finding out how one goes about seeking financial support for grass-roots development projects. I am seeking suport for a group of people that have worked for many years in a very sucessful series of people-centered projects with some of the poorest people in Colombia. THey have been organizing recycling cooperatives among people that were surviving scaveging in the streets and dumps. They have had considerable sucess and there are now viable cooperatives in many cities throughout Colombia.
This group of development specialists have been working for many years for a Colombian NGO that does great work but that is not interested in working in places they are not already established. Several members of the team that have been involved in the recycling project, including the Director, are eager to try the model in other countries in Latin America and would like to form their own NGO to pursue this. These are some of the hardest working folks I know and I would love to help them get underway. I would appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks,
Jack
