Hi ya'll!
        I am in the primary stages of research for my dissertation (hopefully)
and I interested in the cultural parallels of the maroons of Paramaribo
(Suriname) and the Jamaican maroons.  I intend to examine their shared African
heritage, and how identity and communication practices play a role in this
regional culture.
