For those interested in Third World development from a Christian perspective I
would like to recommend the HEART Institute in Lake Wales, Florida. HEART
operates a semester long undergraduate program in development studies in their
simulated Third World village in Central Florida. Students live onsite and
receive practical, hands on training in appropriate technology, community
development, intensive gardening, food preparation, primary health care, and
small animal husbandry. They also offer shorter crash courses, internships, and
other programs at different times of the year. For more information contact:

Dr. Joseph E. Mattox Executive Director 5301 US Highway 27 South Lake Wales, FL 33853 Phone (813) 638-1188 Fax (813) 638-1472

P.S. If you talk to Dr. Mattox tell him I told you about this over the Internet -- I've been trying to talk him into getting online.

P.P.S. I believe Eastern College in Pennsylvania where Dr. Tony Campolo is a professor offers a couple of Master's programs in Community development, Micro-Enterprise development, etc. I don't have the address handy.
