The Center for Communication Programs (CCP) is happy to announce the creation of its World Wide Web home page at:CCP is part of the Johns Hopkins University School of Hygiene and Public Health. We work in the field of international health and family planning. Our Population Communication Services (PCS) project provides technical assistance to family planning information, education, and communication (IEC) projects of family planning organizations and government ministries in developing countries. We also publish the quarterly journal, "Population Reports" and produce POPLINE, a bibliographic database of over 225,000 citations on family planning, population, HIV/AIDS, and related health issues.
As part of our mission to share information with people and organizations working in international health and development, we have created a number of internet-based resources which we hope will be useful to you in your work.
* Annotated Guide to Internet Resources in Population & Family Planning. Our guide includes over 100 resources. On our gopher, it is available as an alphabetical list, as a set of links to other gopher resources, and as a subject list; on our web-site, web-site, it is divided by type of resource (gopher, web-site, ftp, listserv, etc.) and includes a link to each resource and organization in the guide.
* POPLINE "Search of the Month" Each month a sample of the results of a timely search are featured on both the gopher and web-site.
* Full text of "Population Reports" Full-text versions of three recent issues of "Population Reports" are available on our gopher. In the future, we plan to add other issues in other languages as well as additional reports in English.
* Videos and PCS Packets A list of videos and packets in the PCS Packet Series is available on both the gopher and the web-site. The full text of Packet 3: "Basic Processes and Principles for Population/Family Planning Communication" and Packet 9: "Pamphlets about Oral Contraceptives" are available on the web-site in English. In the future we plan to add other packets and information in French and Spanish.
