I am doing my masters in engineering geology and i am looking for anything on
GIS (Geographical Information Systems). I am probably going to be doing a
project on it next year but it is not yet certain. I would like to find out
how marketable it is in the US. Please let me know more about it if you have
any information pertaining to it. Thanks.

Larger cities have MapInfo 2, which is such a system, in their
Community Planning sections, or CDBG offices. Police Departments,
for example, can plot crimes on it and other things by time of day,
location, day of week, and a number of other breakdowns.
