You need to develop a focus. I know that there is much to
be done in improving citrus production in Africa. Malawi or
Northeastern Zambia has the best potential. If you are more
concerned about earning a good salary, development work is
not the place. The high paying jobs are temporary
consultantcies where you need to be an expert - 20+ years
specializing in some field of need. The big question is,
what will that need be 20 years from now?

Small enterprise development and Eastern Europe seems to be hot right now.

Helping small holders grow better fruit will not make you rich. But, central Africa can use an orange orange.
