Welcome both to oldtimers and newcomers to ENTER-L, an enterprise
development discussion list  which now has a brand new address and location
mailto:(ENTER-L@enterweb.org ).

The list is back in operation and seems to be working well. You can also now access current archives at http://www.enterweb.org/archives/

ENTER-L Discussion List focuses on enterprise development in developed and developing countries, with special attention to micro and small enterprises. Topics for discussion include: definitions, the enabling environment, finance, supporting systems, training and training of trainers, education and enterprise development, technology, markets, the informal sector, the entrepreneur, networking, privatization, employment creation, urbanization, enterprise development programming and planning, gender and enterprise development, etc. (for more details on those topics you can go to http://www.enterweb.org/potopics.htm)

WHERE IS ENTER-L LOCATED?

ENTER-L is now housed by W3 Internet Services Ltd. Canada in Nova Scotia, which is also hosting the Global Knowledge 97 site (http://www.globalknowledge.org) as well as the ENTERWeb site (http://www.enterweb.org)

WHEN WAS ENTER-L STARTED?

ENTER-L was started in the fall of 1994 by Jean-Claude Lorin, an employee of the Canadian International Development Agency who is also the creator (on his free time) and owner of ENTERWeb The Enterprise Development Website (http://www.enterweb.org). ENTER-L was housed for three years in CIDA but became inoperative in September 1997 following an administrative decision to close the CIDA BBS. At that time there were 430 subscribers to the List (now down to 418 due to non responding e-mail accounts)
