My thanks to all those who took the trouble to reply to my earlier query.I have selected only those sites with free accessible online reports/discussion papers about small/microenterprise and development:
http://www.enterweb.org/ - ENTERWeb is about the closest to a single source on the topic with lots of online documents rated for content
http://www.soc.titech.ac.jp/icm/icm.html - Virtual Library on Microcredit; another 'single source' site with plenty of links to real content, obviously with a credit emphasis
http://www.mip.org/ - Microenterprise Innovation Project; a lot of clear, analytical documents with straightforward recommendations from USAID practice in the field
http://www.worldbank.org/html/cgap/cgap.html - Consultative Group to Assist the Poorest; useful short notes and papers
There were many more sites with just content about individual organisations, with dead links, no links, which charged for reports, or which merely provided details of orderable paper documents.
